Historic House Museum Restorations
Waterhouse and Thomas Strahan have been your partner in re-creating historic wallpaper and/or supplying period appropriate wallpapers since 1908. One of our earliest reproductions (that we have a record of) was for the Paul Revere Memorial Association House in 1908. The original paper was installed prior to 1750, and during the removal of the old paper it was determined, that the design was made up of “packets” of paper approx. 12” x 16” ( the maximum size of paper at the time) and every 12” to 15” inches there was a tax stamp / royal seal on the back of each sheet of paper.
